FOOT ON AFRICA NIGHT GAME DRIVE
Nocturnal animals are creatures that thrive in the cover of darkness, displaying heightened activity during the night while often resting or sleeping during the day. Among the impressive roster of nocturnal wildlife in our region, you can encounter hippos, lions, leopards, porcupines, civet cats, white-tailed mongooses, aardvarks, and cape hares.
To catch a glimpse of these fascinating animals in their element, a night game drive is the key. Our night game drives in Lake Manyara and Tarangire National Parks are expertly led by experienced guides. We provide custom 4×4 safari cruisers and Land Cruisers equipped with powerful lights, ensuring you can appreciate these creatures’ nocturnal activities in the best possible way.
Lake Manyara ecosystem
Lake Manyara, with its 11 distinct ecosystems, stands out as the perfect setting for captivating night game drives. This region serves as a convergence point for an extraordinary array of wildlife and plant species. Its proximity to the lake, the dramatic Rift Valley cliffs, the lush groundwater forest, the Ngorongoro highlands, and the arid Tarangire system create a unique ecological tapestry. Manyara National Park benefits from a consistent water supply throughout the year, ensuring that its resident animals are in optimal condition, enhancing the overall wildlife viewing experience.
Lake Manyara is renowned for its significant leopard population, and while these elusive cats may not be frequently encountered, sightings do occur regularly. Lions, on the other hand, are more commonly seen, and while they may appear lethargic during the daytime, they come to life at night, providing excellent opportunities for observing their nocturnal behaviors.
