Lake Manyara Ecosystem
Lake Manyara’s rich and diverse ecosystem makes it an exceptional location for night game drives. The park boasts 11 distinct ecosystems, including the lush groundwater forest, the open floodplains, the dramatic Rift Valley escarpment, and the thriving lake itself. These diverse landscapes support a variety of wildlife, making night safaris especially rewarding.
While Lake Manyara is famous for its tree-climbing lions, its leopard population is also significant, and though these elusive cats are rarely seen during the day, night drives offer an increased chance of sightings. Night Game Drive Program
Your night adventure in Lake Manyara begins at approximately 20:00. The drive takes you deep into the park’s groundwater forest before heading towards the lake and following the Simba River to the hippo pools. As you return through the forest, you’ll witness the park’s nocturnal world in full display. The experience concludes at around 22:30 at the park gate, leaving you with unforgettable memories of Lake Manyara’s nightlife.
