In this special tour, you’ll have the incredible opportunity to meet Mzee Ole Laibon, a revered traditional Maasai witch doctor. Mzee Laibon’s life story is as fascinating as it is inspiring, with over 150 children and grandchildren and a union with 24 wives. His dedication to his family is evident through the establishment of his kindergarten and primary school to ensure a bright future for his descendants. Additionally, he owns a milling machine, which he uses to provide food for his extensive family.

During your visit, you’ll have the privilege of interacting with Mzee Laibon and his family, gaining unique insights into their culture and way of life. You’ll even have the opportunity to spend a night in one of his many bomas (huts), truly immersing yourself in the Maasai lifestyle.

As part of this tour, you’ll experience the thrill of cattle herding with Maasai herders, setting out as early as 6:30 AM. You’ll venture into the Manyara Ranch corridor, situated between Tarangire and Lake Manyara in the Maasai Steppe Heartland. This corridor is renowned for its extraordinary wildlife diversity, serving as one of the world’s richest havens for a wide range of animal species.

The Kwa Kuchinja wildlife corridor connects Tarangire, famed for its iconic baobab trees and abundant elephant population, and Lake Manyara National Park, known for its tree-climbing lions. This corridor passes through Manyara Ranch, allowing wildlife to traverse freely between the two parks. As you participate in cattle herding, you’ll have the chance to witness these incredible animals in their natural habitat, making for a truly memorable and authentic experience.
